Representing our state's neighbor to the North and proof that Europe is a little ahead of the trend when it comes to rock 'n roll, Cage the Elephant has come up quickly and seem to be enjoying every minute of it. Getting their start only five years ago in Bowling Green, KY, the band got a record deal in '07 after their SXSW showcase. After releasing their debut album in 2008 in Europe, the mainstream rockers blew up due to their single "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" and a strong cast of supporting songs. The band consists of brothers Matthew and Brad Shultz on piano, vocals, and rhythm guitar, as well as Lincoln Parish (lead guitar), Daniel Tichenor (bass, vocals), and Jared Champion rounding it out on drums. Here stateside, the Kentucky rockers have toured with the likes of Silversun Pickups and Stone Temple Pilots, as well as playing slots at major festivals such as Bonnaroo and Outside Lands.
