Vestival 2011

We all know about major music festivals like Bonnaroo or Hang Out, but sometimes the smaller, lesser-known festivals can be more fulfilling due to the intimate performances and smaller crowds. Since 2001, a festival of this nature has been taking place in South Knoxville. Known as Vestival, a combination of the words Vestal, the community in which it takes place, and festival, it was begun by Trudy Monaco who wanted to celebrate the history and heritage of the community as well as South Knox. Taking place Saturday May 7 the fest is now headed up by Lonetone's front man, Sean McCullough.  Now in it's 10th year the festival has been held on the grounds of the historic Candoro Marble Company Building. The festival features art, crafts, and food vendors from around the region. Vestival is currently looking for volunteers, so head to their facebook if you're interested. Read more for the lineup....
